International Mother Language Day Celebrated
Ruhana, Rajshahi, 22 February 2023: The 21 February, better known as International Mother Language Day, was observed in Kurigram Government College with enthusiasm and solemnity.
The college went to the central Shaded Minar of Kurigram to place a floral wreath at 12:01 am. Then, in the morning, all the students, teachers, and staff of the institution gathered in front of the college Shaheed Minar and placed floral wreaths on behalf of various departments and politically affiliated student wings of the college. On this day, the national flag was kept at half-mast to express our mourning.

Next, a discussion meeting and an award-giving ceremony were held in the college auditorium. The Principal was the chairperson of the meeting, while the literati Prof. Tapon Kumar Rudra was the chief discussant. The speakers focused on the sacrifice of the language martyrs who laid down their lives for the rightful place of their mother tongue- Bangla. Then, the winners of different competitions were given prizes. Later, the Principal declared the end of the ceremony, thanking all.
