Metro Railways is an important mode of transportation in many countries worldwide. In Bangladesh, the metro-railway system is still in its infancy, but it can transform how people travel within the country. Project Details: The first metro-railway project in Bangladesh is the MRT Line-6, also known as the Uttara-Motijheel Metro Rail Project. The project is being implemented by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) and is funded by the Bangladesh government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) . The MRT Line-6 will run from Uttara, north of Dhaka, to Motijheel, in the city’s heart. The project will be completed in 2023. It will cover a distance of 20.1 kilometres. Now, the MRT Line-6 can transport around 60,000 passengers per hour.
