Patriotism

Patriotism is putting the interest of one’s country first, working for its development, and sacrificing for it if needed. Patriotism is not all about laying one’s life for one’s country. Patriotism means living for the betterment of the country. A patriot serves their (his/her) country in every possible way. A patriot is willing to sacrifice his/her life whenever needed. Again, patriotism is to feed the hungry, give shelter to the homeless, and provide working opportunities for the jobless. Patriotism is responsibility. Every citizen of a nation must be responsible in their work. Honesty and responsibility can serve a nation at its best. Every patriot must fight against corruption and tyranny. However, the feeling of patriotism is slowly fading. We must make an effort to instill the feeling of patriotism in our children. Institutions such as schools and colleges must also promote the same. The country’s youth must love and respect the country and work towards building it strong. At its best, patriotism encourages citizens to participate actively in making their country a better place for all.
