Self Reliance
[11th NTRCA, 2014]
Self-reliance is the ability to do things and make decisions by yourself, without needing other people to help you. It’s about believing in yourself and your abilities to handle different situations. When you’re self-reliant, you take responsibility for your own actions and decisions. You don’t wait for someone else to solve your problems or make things happen for you. Being self-reliant doesn’t mean isolation; it doesn’t mean you can’t ask for help when you need it, but it does mean that you’re confident in your own capabilities. It means you are willing to take initiative in your life. Self-reliance is the cornerstone of personal empowerment. It also allows you to learn from mistakes, bounce back from setbacks, and chart your own course. Self-reliance is the best help. A man who doesn’t depend upon others enjoys glorious independence. He is always confident in overcoming his difficulties and finding a way that may lead him to his goal. Everybody should, therefore, develop the habit of self-reliance from childhood. In today’s ever-changing world, self-reliance is a valuable asset.
