Briefly write about the childhood memories in the poems of Dylan Thomas. 

Dylan Marlais Thomas (1914-1953), in short, Dylan Thomas, based on his childhood memories, wrote several numbers of poems. "Poem in October", "Fern Hill", and "After the Funeral" are remarkable poems based on the theme of childhood.  

Childhood memories in “After the Funeral”: “After the Funeral” is a tribute and elegy to Thomas’s aunt, Ann Jones, with whom he shared a deep bond. He enjoys everything about Fern Hill with his aunt. He remembers his aunt’s generosity in his childhood. The death of his aunt left a profound impact on the poet.  

Childhood memories in “Poem in October”: Waking up at the call of nature quite early in the morning, he feels he is being greeted on his birthday by the objec

ts of nature, birds, beasts, hills, trees and ocean waves. When the whole town is asleep, the poet comes out of the house and finds the pool full of mussels. The herons are sitting priest-like on the seashore. All these natural phenomena and human activities welcome the poet on his birthday. He remembers the happy days of childhood when he passed in Fern Hill. He spent time there with his aunt. He walked there like a lord.  

Childhood memories in “Fern Hill “: The speaker remembers the happy times of his childhood spent at a farm called Fern Hill, describing himself as being “young and easy” and the “prince of the apple towns.” The speaker was green and carefree. He says, 

"And as I was green and carefree, famous among the barns

About the happy yard and singing as the farm was home"

But now the poet is very sad that his childhood days are gone forever, and those days will never come back to him.
