১. Lucy এর অবস্থান বর্ণনা: কবিতার প্রথমেই কবি Lucy নামক এক মেয়ের জীবনধারা বর্ণনা করেছেন। সে এমন এক নির্জন জায়গায়, Dove ঝর্ণার পাশে বাস করতো, যেখানে কেউ কখনোই যেত না। তার সৌন্দর্যের প্রশংসা করার মতো লোক ছিল না । খুব কম মানুষই তাকে ভালোবাসতো।
২. Lucy এর সৌন্দর্যের বর্ণনা: Lucy ছিল violet লতা ফুলের মতো। এই violet লতা ফুল শেওলাযুক্ত পাথরের আড়ালে অর্ধ ঢাকা অবস্থায় থাকে। আর তাই এই ফুল মানুষের চোখে ধরা পরে না বললেই চলে। এরপর কবি Lucy কে সন্ধ্যা তারার ভেনাসের সাথে তুলনা করেন। এই তারা সন্ধ্যায় একাই পশ্চিম আকাশে আলো ছড়ায়। কারণ সুন্দর রূপ নিয়ে সন্ধ্যা তারার মতোই Lucy ও বনের ধারে একাই বাস করতো।
