Read the passage below and answer the question no. 6-7

Nuclear power plants in Bangladesh are facilities that generate electricity using nuclear reactions. They work by harnessing the heat produced during nuclear fission, where the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts, releasing a large amount of energy. This energy is then converted into electricity through turbines and generators. Nuclear power is considered a reliable and efficient energy source, as it can produce significant electricity with relatively low greenhouse gas emissions.

Bangladesh plans to build its first nuclear power plant in Rooppur, located in the Pabna district. The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will consist of two reactors with a total capacity of 2,400 megawatts. The project is being implemented with the assistance of Russia’s state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom. The construction of the Rooppur plant is expected to significantly contribute to Bangladesh’s energy security and help meet the country’s growing demand for electricity.

Safety is a paramount concern in nuclear power plants. Stringent safety measures are implemented to prevent accidents and protect the environment and public health. These measures include multiple layers of containment structures, sophisticated monitoring systems, and strict regulatory oversight. Additionally, nuclear power plant personnel undergo extensive training to respond effectively to potential emergencies.

Despite the benefits of nuclear power, there are concerns about its safety and environmental impact. Accidents such as the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 and the Fukushima Daiichi accident in 2011 have raised questions about the risks associated with nuclear energy. Properly managing radioactive waste is another challenge, as it remains hazardous for thousands of years. However, proponents argue that technological advancements and improved safety protocols can mitigate these risks, making nuclear power a viable option for clean energy production.

In conclusion, nuclear power plants significantly influence Bangladesh’s energy future. Once operational, the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will provide a reliable source of electricity, helping to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. However, it is essential to prioritize safety and environmental protection in nuclear energy development to ensure its long-term sustainability and minimize risks to both people and the planet.

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

BY WILLIAM WORDSWORTH

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o’er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,

In such a jocund company:

I gazed—and gazed—but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.
