The Lamb Quotes

Little Lamb who made thee

Dost thou know who made thee

Gave thee life & bid thee feed.

Exp: In the first stanza, the speaker asks the lamb who created and fed it.

Gave thee clothing of delight,

Softest clothing wooly bright;

Gave thee such a tender voice,

Making all the vales rejoice!

Exp: The speaker is delighted to see the wonderful lamb with soft wool and a tender voice.

Little Lamb I'll tell thee,

Little Lamb I'll tell thee!

He is called by thy name,

For he calls himself a Lamb:

Exp:  In the second stanza, the speaker, who is a joyful and innocent child, provides the answer that God created the lamb in such a beautiful manner. The speaker says Jesus calls himself a Lamb. Jesus is described in the Bible as the "Lamb of God".
