Snowflakes Sail Gently Down Characters

The Speaker: The poet is the main person in the poem. He watches the snow falling and thinks about life, peace, and the passing of time.

The Snowflakes: The snowflakes are quiet and gentle. They make the world look clean and calm. They also mean life, death, and a new beginning.

The Elms: The elm trees bend under the snow. They show tiredness and pain, just like people who suffer in silence.

The Dream Birds: The black birds in the poet’s dream stand for new ideas and hope. They bring light and life to his heart.

The Uprooters: These people try to cut the trees, but later rest under them. They show that people finally return to nature for peace.

The Earth: The Earth is quiet and full of mystery. It stands for life, death, and the power of nature.
